The Intuitive Vision Board was “by far the best visioning workshop I’d treated myself to in a long while”.

It’s always good to hear another’s perspective about the transformative power of creating an Intuitive Vision Board. Here Becky shares hers.

Becky has a Counselling centre in the market town of Tring in the Chilterns. She knows a thing or two about personal development and healing. Her professional appreciation “by far the best workshop I’ve treated myself to in a long while” – is good to hear as she expresses awe, satisfaction and joy at the visioning process for her.

Becky’s experience

Blown away by the visionary that is Mary Nondé,  I wanted to write about my experience and share how wonderfully inspirational this lady is.  Having attended an Intuitive Vision board workshop I wanted to shout about it from the roof tops.

My job is very much embedded in ‘head stuff’ with a need to analyse, hold and often dissect information daily. Processing and reflecting on words and their meanings with clients.  It’s been a long time since I truly sat with my own creative brain in such an in-depth, exploratory way.  This workshop was liberating, emotive, eye opening and, as the label, states ‘intuitive’.

Guided meditation to begin

We began with a guided meditation, scanning the body and arriving a place of rest and peace, ready to dip into the creative brain.  Mary then soothingly talks through the process of looking within, how to release expectation and relinquish judgment. Animals and colours are used as metaphors to invite you to journey inwards.

Following her instruction we created an installation with objects we’d brought, giving you a brilliant insight into where you are at in life.  This shone a light on my own fears, anxieties along with highlighting emotive areas that I could let go of.

Mary was empathic, holding and supportive in her reading and enquiry of my own objects.  My values quickly came to the surface and this was comforting and placed me readily in the right mindset to make my own vision board.

The creative process

The creative process allows for the unconscious to be firmly at play. Encouraged to choose pictures randomly with no questioning or thought processing while doing so, the unconscious leads while the mind can not get in the way.

You are guided to tap into who you really are, while letting go of your past self and limitations in favour of your future dreams, wishes and goals.

Utterly absorbed and happy to nurture my inner child by ripping and tearing, cutting and gluing the images I was drawn to intuitively in magazines.

My shadow-self crept in at times to reveal potential blockages where I might hold myself back as well. I faced up to areas of need, want, loss and grief I had been overlooking.  At the same time I could visualise and anticipate with excitement and playfulness what might lie ahead, especially with the images of travel.

The finished board

The finished collage astounded me.  I sat facing elements of who I am and who I want to be on my board, along with sudden, dawning realisations that had not occurred to me before. Remembering places I’d visited,  I recounted parts of myself I’d forgotten.  Books I’d read.  Objects I’d owned.

Without me making it happen an overriding theme emerged on my board.  One of nurture, softness, comfort, of holding, rest, colour, vibrancy and fun.  For example, it was no surprise to me I had no less than 10 pictures of chairs and people sitting.  A clear message if ever there was one.

Benefits of the workshop

If you’re feeling stuck or have blocks in your mind as to how to move forwards, I’d highly recommend Mary’s workshop – either in a group or as a one-to-one.

This workshop is an absolute must on so many levels – for those wanting direction and to practice self-care and self-compassion. Or simply if you want to draw out your inner child, be creative and have fun. The workshop is all and more than I’d ever imagined. I’m indebted to Mary for guiding, honouring and showing me how I can look forwards and for giving me the tools to visually craft my life.

Adventures abound.

Mary is empathic, kind, caring and gentle with a twinkle in her eye.  She intuitively knows when to lead and when to step back.

“A truly enlightening workshop from a knowledgeable teacher and coach.”
