Laura longed for a career change. Although her outlook was uncertain, she still had a choice how to deal with this.

Making an Intuitive Vision Board

To face the career change she longed for Laura had a choice.  To retract like a hedgehog and wait passively until the danger passed.  Or make a vision board and embrace the career change highlighted on it.

Vision board highlights career change

Laura was stuck but longed for a career change.  She made an Intuitive Vision Board privately with me one evening followed with an in-depth coaching exploration to unravel a way forward.  After a full day’s work is not an ideal time for vision boarding but it was the only time she had.  After a hectic week for a PR company in the City, she needed to preserve her weekends for recuperation.

She arrived in a fragile state.  Stressed, confused, overweight and unfit.  Her preferred gym routine that used to keep her super-fit, consumed by the daily commute and travel for the job that took her all over the world at short notice.

Laura was in knots about what she should do to rectify the situation.  Finding a partner and starting a family were both high on her wish list but impossible as things stood.  A friend, concerned for her well-being, recommended making an Intuitive Vision Board as a way to by-pass her befuddled mind and find a way to clarity.

When you are stressed and your brain overloaded, it’s challenging enough to take a deep breath let alone imagine what an alternative future could look like.  Clarity is just not available to you when you’re caught up in the thoughts circling around in your head, cutting you off from the wisdom of your whole body.

Vision boarding reduces stress

As Laura went through the preparatory steps before making the vision board, her nervous system quietened down.  These steps are so essential for switching the intellect off and switching the intuition on.  Intuitive flashes won’t arise when the mind is in a deliberate, fast and furious mode.

The Intuitive Vision Board process is more like a creative meditation in which, in an elevated state of mind, you are drawn to images spontaneously without knowing why.  The board then holds the blueprint for a new possible, life scape until it is consciously recognised and the IVB creator finds themselves living the dream.

Laura loved the workshop.  She couldn’t remember the last time she’d paid attention to where she truly was in her life or pondered an alternative scenario.

“This creative session was enlightening and I felt something awakened in me that had fallen asleep.  This process is both magical and mystical and vital to anyone at a crossroads seeking direction.”

More themes emerge through vision board coaching

Within a few uninterrupted hours, images were confidently assembling on her A1 mount board.  Laura had plenty of lifestyle, travel, women’s magazines and National Geographic to choose from.  Why then did she alight on the random selection of images that she did?  Because her intuition had led her to them and the ‘why’ would emerge in time.

There is no prescribed way to make an Intuitive Vision Board.  Some people cover every available inch with overlapping images hanging off the sides.  For some the vision is complete with just a few.  In Laura’s case every single image stood alone with empty board framing it.  My take was she needed space to disentangle the possibilities and consider each on its own merit.

During the coaching session we shone further light on each image in turn, thereby increasing the chances of Laura being able to meld this raw potential into concrete form.

Healthy food

While the images had not been chosen deliberately – because that is the method – yet two distinct themes were clear.  The first was about healthy food combinations, quality ingredients and food preparation, although Laura was completely unaware of this while working on her board.

When I enquired she said she’d been a coeliac for many years and followed an alkaline diet.  I asked if she’d ever considered a career in nutrition. She hadn’t –  although she was delighted to see the images there.  I recommended a Naturopath to her as something to consider.

Romance

The other dominant theme on Laura’s board centred on romance and featured a wedding.  It is not uncommon for people to arrive at a workshop to make an IVB with the desire for love on their wish list.  Paradoxically  many leave the workshop with few indications of this.  I suggest this is because, while they might think that love is their top priority, it isn’t.  And what we want and what we need are oftentimes different things.  Although we may desire intimacy, there is something else that must be unpacked first before romance can happen.

Six months later

Six months later Laura and I met again for another coaching session. Laura informed me she had resigned from her job, much to the surprise of her boss.  Friends said she was crazy. Her father advised her “you shouldn’t be doing this” until he saw tears well up in her eyes. “I’m going to have a nervous breakdown if I don’t” she said.  He was quick to rescind his remark with:  “You should be doing it then.”

Meanwhile Laura had spoken to the Naturopath I’d recommended and begun a two-year study at a London college.  Once the PR company had grown accustomed to her imminent departure, they offered to retain her for 2-days a week and allow her to work from home.  This gave her immediate financial stability to manage the transition while looking for other part-time work in line with her new, emerging profession.ix months later Laura and I met again for another coaching session. Travel

Travel to the Caribbean was indicated on her board.  When the full-time job ended and before her studies began, she booked a three-week holiday to the little known Caribbean island of Barbuda – and then on to a wedding that was highlighted… an invitation to a glamorous affair in the USA, based on The Great Gatsby theme.  Images on her Intuitive Vision Board had reminded Laura how much she enjoyed dressing up, particularly in 1920s style. Now here was her moment to indulge this whim with panache.

Babies

Out of the blue, someone told her about a course teaching babies how to sleep. With her love of children and a desire to have her own soon, she didn’t hesitate to sign up for that even though she’d never heard of it before.

Career change with a growth mindset

Rather than remain in a stressful life situation, Laura took timeout to face up to it – which resulted in remarkable turnarounds.  She chose growth and transformation over continuing as is and in misery.  Well done Laura.

About me

As the founder of the Intuitive Vision Board, I can show you how to create your big picture and become your own best authority over the direction your life should take when you rely more on your intuition and less on your logic.

I should know this process works even under duress.  Once upon time a metaphorical hurricane whipped through my life and flattened the lot.  Faced with a crisis of magnitude and blindsided by it, I created a new vision board.  It was to be my lifesaver, providing solutions to my challenges in a way I would not previously have conceived possible.  You can read about it in ‘Awaken Your Intuitive Vision – unlocking possibilities you never knew existed AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.
