We created flow and ease of living with Feng Shui, transforming the energy of the rental into a joyful home to live in while also attracting the home they will next purchase.

The door into this important room, which is the lounge, is currently obstructed by two large pieces of furniture (see above).

The ‘power’ corner of the room is dominated by a TV (see above). Whoever sits in the armchair adjacent for any length of time feels stuck and unmotivated; their energy drained.

We repositioned the sofas (above) to open up the room and relocated the armchair. This freed up the ‘power’ corner of the room (corresponding with ‘Helpful People’ on the Bagua map) which we ‘activated’ with suitable Feng Shui placements. This would help to attract their next home.
“Sometimes you don’t need to know exactly how something works for it to do so. However, it was apparent having moved, decluttered and reorganised as per Mary’s advice, the flow and ease of living was immediate felt. A big and grateful Wow to her!”

Using Feng Shui to create flow and ease of living
This is the story of AJ and her husband who sold their family home. It had been in her family for over sixty years. Having helped AJ sell their previous house successfully, she asked me to support her in finding the way forward now.
When the next house purchase fell through, they decided to rent a bijoux residence, which served as the perfect transitional space for a while. When that ‘while’ turned into a whole year, AJ began to feel adrift. She wanted to honour the fact that the rental had provided them with a haven since Life also stole this moment to throw the family a curved ball. But she also wanted to keep things moving and felt it was time to also find their forever home.
The intention for this Intuitive Feng Shui consultation was twofold:
1) To help AJ land fully in this house and feel at home.
2) To activate the area of the home that corresponds in Feng Shui terms with ‘Helpful People’ and moving house.
We laid the Bagua map down in relation to the front door, to identify where Helpful People was. It coincided with the lounge, which was the one room I felt would benefit from a complete rearrangement in order to meet their brief.
Cross-reference to the client’s vision board
Before we set to, we delved once more into AJ’s current Intuitive Vision Board. We were looking for clues as to what it had to offer that wanted to be expressed and materialised. We would then align the energy of the home with these prompts to create greater congruency and flow.
Five Elements in Feng Shui
Using the Five Elements – Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal – allowed me to quickly establish the home was predominantly Metal in nature with some Wood. They needed growth (Wood) but required more of the element that would feed Wood, namely Water, to stimulate movement and creativity.
Raising the water level
Consequently I made sure there was nothing about the furniture arrangements throughout to impede Water. I recommended introducing colours, textures and accessories to encourage more of this element. For instance, water features (where possible), the colours of deep blues, deep greens, deep browns, deep purples and black. Useful accessories for Water are mirrors and quartz crystals. Water artwork and ornaments are also useful placements.
We also increased the number of plants and flowers, both on the inside and outside of the property, that would be nurtured by the increase in Water.
Stoking the Fire
Evident from her vision board was the need for more Fire in AJ’s life. This would give her the vitality she needed to feed her soul, source the new home, and meet all the family’s demands of her.
Fire is the energy of living creatures with heart – humans, birds, animals. Fire brings joy, sparkle, sociable, vitality. It’s reds, oranges and pinks. It’s lighting – sunlight, candlelight and lamps. I couldn’t help smiling when AJ turned up for Feng Shui wearing a red lipstick, which looked great on her. The Feng Shui was working already!
Fire also sits comfortably with AJ’s nature. We found lovely pockets of Fire accessories hidden around the home, which we grouped together for greater impact. Fire is also the element which controls an over-abundant Metal and redress the balance of Metal in this home.
Decluttering
Finally, a cursory glance told me the home would benefit by a further 10% reduction of furniture, accessories or paperwork to stimulate flow. Further decluttering ensued which focused on their bedroom, the study and the lounge. It worked a treat.
Within 4 days of making these recommendations, AJ had actioned most of them. I could see – and feel – how the energy had shifted significantly for both AJ and her husband. They now love living in their current rental home while also enjoying a sense of forward momentum. They had already been offered new properties by Estate Agents, which has further added to the lightening of their spirits.
“Thank you Magic Mary. The Fish is already painted gold. Furniture and soft furnishings are rearranged. And my husband heartily approves of the complete change around in the lounge and refreshing of the other rooms in the way we’ve done so that’s good!

The garden is underway too. I’m delighted/relieved/excited and enjoying the freedom of living inside our happy, relaxed home. You are amazing.”
