Create your big picture. The benefits of a private intuitive vision board session over a group workshop for visioning.

“Thank you so much for a joyous and deeply significant vision board workshop yesterday – I love my vision boards and I am so grateful and full of life and movement this morning.”

Mags, Business Coach

Create your big picture in private

Some people prefer to create their big picture in a private vision board session with supervision. It allows them to drop into the intuitive zone more easily and stay there without distraction. It’s easier for me, the facilitator, to make sure they stay in that zone and prevent the cognitive mind creeping back in and taking over their creative work. It also allows me to coach them as the go.

Mags reports on her experience of chosing privacy over sociability.

Why did you choose to create your big picture in a 1:2:1 vision board session?

“The privacy of a 1-2-1 appealed to me as I know that I easily assume a ‘role’ in a group situation. I feel a pressure of ‘fitting in’ with what’s expected of me by others (past baggage from my childhood).   So to have the complete freedom to be me and allow my intuitive side to have the least hindrance possible to emerge, I wanted to do it alone. “

“For me, it was a real gift to myself to allow myself the luxury of having Mary there, just for me, for those four hours. I’ve given a lot of myself in both my career and to my family over the years, placing both needs above my own at times and now this was time just for me.”

The benefits you found?

  • “The space to be me and not feel that anyone else apart from Mary was ‘in’ the space.
  • Entering Mary’s home was also a joy and experiencing a warm welcome from her and her space. For me, there was something powerful about undertaking this activity in her home environment.
  • The open hospitality of the creative space just for me.  This gave me freedom to explore my own inner and outer space uncluttered by others.
  • Mary’s generous flexibility in letting me finish my triptych. When it came to it I had not one but three boards in me that needed creating and Mary generously allowed me the extra time I needed to go with whatever mystery was emerging.
  • The invitation to share something of my personal story with Mary helped me to feel at ease and allow the various parts of me to arrive and be present in the space, beyond my ‘social’ front.
  • Being able to voice my anxiety – ‘I really am going to be no good at this’ – and for it to be accepted and not judged.  This gave me the opportunity to move through my resistance and create the three wonderful boards I did, which I am proud of.
  • Absence of comparison as to how others were tackling the task: I can easily get deflected and discouraged by this and feel my offering is no good so it was better for me to do it alone. “

How you feel about the entire creative, intuitive process now?

“The whole process was most intriguing. I loved the sense of energy I felt flowing through me when I was tearing out pictures and arranging them.  All this took more than the normal session time, I felt the last part of arranging, sticking and digesting was a bit rushed. I perhaps shared more than I expected of myself at the beginning and that took time. But I understand that all this was useful and essential preparation for the creative session that followed.

I feel as if I am still travelling through the process. I’m looking forward to further discussion and exploration with Mary and my three boards to complete the bell curve. “

Any other observations?

“I noticed at times I felt vaguely uncomfortable about the time length and expectation.  I would like to have known long the body meditation was likely to take, for example.  But I also understand now this was my cognitive mind wanting to control the process. The intuitive mind works in a more timeless way. Also that Mary varies the duration of each exercise according to what she feels the client requires – another advantage of being working 1-2-1.”

Thank you Mags, for sharing your observations.

About Mary Nondé

Mary is the originator of the Intuitive Vision Board.  She’ll show you how to create your big picture and become your own best authority over the direction your life should take when you rely more on your intuition and less on your logic.  Mary knows this works even under duress.  Once upon a time a metaphorical hurricane whipped through her life and flattened the lot.  Faced with a crisis of magnitude and blindsided by it, she created a new vision board.  It was to be her lifesaver, providing solutions to her challenges in a way she would not have previously have conceived possible.
