Who, what, why?

Who would you be, how would you dress, what would your environment look like if you honoured the essence of who you are and lived your dreams?

What a delight to discover how elegantly simple it can be to do this when you know how.

By making conscious clothing choices and arranging your home on purpose, this winning combination will inform you where to begin a life-change make-over and empower you to live your personal magic.

Home & Fashion Feng Shui

Home & Fashion Feng Shui offers you the way to elevate your decisions as to what to wear and how to arrange your living environment.  It  draws on the 5 Elemental Archetypes for change and the time-honoured art of placement, Feng Shui, to effect the transformation.

Your clothing is the body’s most intimate environment and your home is your most immediate outer environment, you’ll discover how to dress both with intention.

This practical, experiential weekend will empower you to take dressing to a higher level when you apply the 5 Elemental Archetypes and break a few rules.

A guest shares her experience …

The content delivery was well structured and layered.  For example, it made perfect sense to cover the Bagua Map before introducing the elements.  The pace was good and I felt we had plenty of time to explore the topics and complete the exercises.  I enjoyed the opportunity to be active in some tasks – for example the trust walk and mood board were more ‘hands on’.

You are both very effective facilitators and I appreciated how you explained the theory clearly and shared examples and stories to illustrate.  When we were discussing the garments we had brought along, Sharon you reminded us to structure our observations in relation to the elements – and I valued the opportunity to apply the theory in ‘real time’.

I have taken away some concrete actions that I believe will make a difference for me.  The handouts are very useful – all the relevant information is there and I will refer back to them. Thanks too for the Pinterest links and other ideas and recommendations.

The length of the retreat was just right for me and the balance of guided vs free time worked well. I love the ‘no interacting with others before 9am’ rule.  Mornings are sacred time for me and I appreciate the space this afforded me to be with my own thoughts.  I felt completely at ease in the home and my bedroom was super comfortable. The food was really good and I particularly enjoyed the cake.

Thank you both for such an uplifting experience.  I am an inveterate learner, constantly looking to improve and learn. Sometimes, I am in danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater and chasing after what I think I want rather than staying true to my essence and who I already am. The Home & Fashion Feng Shui experience was a timely reminder of who I really am.
This retreat is most affirming and I feel lighter as a result.  Radiant, even.

Problem solving

In the West, we can often treat a problem as an isolated event, unrelated to anything else taking place around it.  We zero in on the problem and try to fix it, without considering the wider context in which it originated.  Neither do we look for any associated factors that may be causing or contributing to it.  The Western medicine approach is a case in point.

The ancient Chinese had a different perspective.  They were the first to observe and document how everything relates to everything else.  When it came to solving a problem they mapped the whole scenario in which it arose before reaching any conclusions.

They recognised that life is cyclical and flows in a continuous cycle, from birth to death.  They called this the 5 Elements cycle and noted it moved through five distinct phases, named after the five natural elements that constitute the fabric of life – Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal.

This 5-phase cycle can be applied to any situation to describe the nature of the problem and to pinpoint what is needed to fix it.

With Home & Fashion Feng Shui, we look at which of the elements are present in your home and wardrobe.  We identify where adjustments can be made to achieve the desired result, which align with your intentions.

Solution finding

We start the weekend by reconnecting to the essence of who you are.  Henceforth you can rest comfortably in the knowledge that as you start to express yourself differently, you come across as genuine, authentic and impactful.

Learn how the elemental language of nature – Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal – can be used to create the optimum balance you need, brightening your life to attract success and fulfil your deepest desires.

With Home & Fashion Feng Shui you’ll discover that the power to ignite the magic of the 5 Elemental Archetypes lies within.

Work and Play

There will be moments for you to take stock alone and moments to enjoy leisurely conversations with the other guests.

It’s recommended however that you plan to limit the use of your mobile phone and social media to one check-in a day (if you must), so you can sink deeply into your own experience.

Home from Home

You’ll be staying on a private farm, with 30 Devonshire Red cows.  It’s a welcoming family home with 70 acres of pastures, landscaped gardens and its own ancient woodland and Labyrinth. Easily accessible by both car and train (to Axminster).

Sharon, the Goddess of this Sanctuary, provides a fully-catered retreat with wholesome vegetarian food, sourced from local ingredients, often straight from the garden.

A self-service breakfast, light lunch and a 2-course nutritious supper will be served. All meals are homemade and delicious.

The accommodation comprises two ensuite, twin-bedded rooms on the first floor.    Up another turn of the spiral staircase leads to the attic room with its twin-bedded room and private bathroom adjacent.

Your Facilitators

You will be in the capable hands of two very experienced facilitators. I’m Mary Nondé, author of Awaken Your Intuitive Vision with a BA in Anthropology and MA in Somatic Arts Psychotherapy. A Feng Shui practitioner and Reiki Master, I’ve a knack for going straight to the heart of the matter

My partner, Sharon Whittock, is the tender custodian of both farm and house.  She is an experienced Aromatherapist bringing ease and comfort to the body in addition to 10 years as a Personal Stylist, helping women make friends with their wardrobe. She is a maestro with colour.

Reviews

“The retreat was perfect for anyone seeking advice on how to better manage their home and wardrobe.  It gave me greater awareness of who I am and what I need in my life to be happy. It also gave me the confidence to declutter more and go forwards with renewed energy.  The farmhouse and garden is beautiful and Sharon and Mary were kind and compassionate hosts.”

“I’m still zinging from an uplifting weekend with you both in such a gorgeous setting. Thank you again to the two of you for your expertise, your care and for holding us in a safe space as we explored and learned. I thought the content was really good. You struck a nice balance between Feng Shui for the home and for the wardrobe… and there was a clear focus on how the philosophy and energetic principles meet us where we are in life and can help us shape what comes next. The Home & Fashion Feng Shui experience was a timely reminder of who I really am. This is most life affirming and I feel lighter as a result.  Radiant, even.”

“One of the best retreats I have experienced because of the care, attention to detail and upliftment both facilitators brought to the experience. Quite an achievement to create a home away from home as well as a space which enabled us to explore emotionally, physically and spiritually but you both did it with such grace and ease.”
