The alchemy of a vision board, feng shui and fashion combined
- 4 Feng Shui projects for 1 client
- Setting FIRE to my wardrobe
- Introducing Feng Shui your Home & Personal Style
Three years ago I was excited to be embarking on a move south, to North Cornwall from North Oxfordshire. Lockdown release orders had been given and I was taking full advantage of them to move into a cabin overlooking the sea in Padstow, Cornwall.
I’d been blessed with a whole year in which to make up my mind what I wanted to do next with the grace of the client who owned the cabin, Sharon. The very same Feng Shui client I’d worked with on four separate occasions.
Feng Shui for Sharon
First time, I was invited to be part of Sharon’s rebuilding and remodelling of their restaurant Greens of Padstow with its stunning location on the Camel Estuary. An exciting two-year involvement all the way to the launch party.
Next, we turned our attention to their 3-storey town house in Guildford with its large 1930s garden. Both had been neglected by necessity during the restaurant project and were in need of attention.
In the process of applying Feng Shui to this family home, Sharon reached an unexpected clarity, which can happen when you start changing energy patterns in the environment with Feng Shui. Her sons had recently left home and she became keenly aware it was time to move to a new space.
Sharon wanted to create a magnificent garden from scratch as well as apply her interior design ideas to a new home. Ian, her husband, dreamt of having his own farm on which to raise high quality beef cattle and other livestock (quite a departure from a working life in the City).
I recommended Feng Shui ‘cures’ to the key areas of their family home, designed to attract the most beneficial sale.
Success – the house sold quickly & easily
The farm they dreamed of however wasn’t ready and waiting on the market. Holding to the vision they transitioned to a rental to bide their time. When things got a little sticky there and the year’s rental contract coming to an end with no farm in sight, I recommended Feng Shui ‘cures’ to the rental to speed up the process.
You don’t have to own your home in order to benefit from Feng Shui. Nor do you have to live there for any length of time for it to be worthwhile doing it. I’d recommend you attend to the property right away if you’re planning to stay 3 weeks or more. I myself would go so far as to fix up a room if I was only staying there for one night!
Back to Sharon and Ian. The very next property they viewed days later, they put in an offer and it was accepted. A beautiful, 3-storey farmhouse with outbuildings, in the heart of Somerset’s cattle-raising country.
Hillcombe Farm has since benefitted from a thorough dose of Feng Shui – from top to bottom, inside and out. In the process of working together on this, we hatched the idea to run events at the farm. Even more exciting was to discover we could combine our skills to create a new event, both unique and transformational.
Setting FIRE to my wardrobe
When I’d first moved to Padstow, Sharon visited me. Well-versed in the ** Intuitive Vision Board having made many herself, I shared the board I’d made 6 weeks earlier.
My board had plenty of coastal images, which I’d manifested already by moving to Padstow. It also portended romance. While I’d enjoyed some synchronistic moments as indicated by my board, there was no sign of a man in the flesh yet. My intention was to start online dating but I hadn’t written a profile.
Sharon asked to see my wardrobe. As a Personal Stylist, she helps women make friends with their wardrobe in a refreshingly liberating way. Originally trained in Colour Me Beautiful, she has further qualified in Fashion Feng Shui, which is where the overlap between our two methods of working with Feng Shui using the 5 Elements emerged.
Sharon’s skill is applied to a person’s wardrobe and fashion style, while mine with Feng Shui is about creating a living space that resonates with the essence of who the person is becoming.
She took one look at my clothes and decided romance wasn’t going to happen unless the FIRE element was boosted in my wardrobe. She recommended FIRE colours, shapes and textures that would suit my natural colouring – all of which were familiar to me.
I lapped up her insights, recycled a few clothes that were definitely off limits, and then went on a shopping spree in Padstow (the clothes shops are small, individual and wonderful). I began to honour FIRE in the way I dressed, allowing myself to be seen, to be more flamboyant and ‘combustible’, using reds, purples, orange and animal print for the desired effect.
Dressed in FIRE, I drafted an original online profile and let the FIRE blaze through it. It drew a lot of interest and on my first day online, I met Sailor Sam. His first day too – and three months since I made the Intuitive Vision Board which featured a sailor and a yacht.
What exactly got the result?
Was it the Intuitive Vision Board that got me to Padstow in the first place?
The various Feng Shui tweaks I’d made to the cabin to attract love when I arrived there?
Or Sharon’s stimulating insights into my wardrobe?
What’s more important, it seems to me, is the chemistry of working all three protocols – vision boards, Feng Shui and fashion together – and acting upon the guidance I’d received.
