I believe that understanding the levels of the mind is a priority in helping us to set and achieve holistic goals. It is important to be clear at any moment what state of mind we are in.
When it comes to visualising your goals in the Intuitive Vision Board workshop, I coach the necessity of being in a higher state of mind when creating the vision board. I use preparatory exercises to bring about the shift in consciousness for this creative, mindfulness meditation. Otherwise you’ll end up with the same-old regurgitated notions about what your future should look like and call it a ‘vision’.
This is a dull and boring outcome in my view. It fails to bring any real clarity and insight. And there’s no mystery, excitement or anticipation for the future.
One participant describes her experience:
“ I realised the next morning when I came to my board afresh after the workshop that I really love my Intuitive Vision Board. I never felt this with previous vision boards that weren’t created intuitively.”

Understanding the three levels of the mind
The Conscious mind and the Unconscious mind are the two fundamental levels of the human mind. We would need to ‘file’ Freud’s Subconscious mind under the Unconscious also.
I believe in – and have great respect for – the third level of the mind, with which we are less familiar but intuitively know exists: the Super-Conscious mind.
The Super-Conscious is so often dismissed or relegated to the ‘back-burner’. This is such a tragedy just because it’s not so easily identified in the way the other two are. Yet its remit is vast and its potential for helping us with a breakthrough is infinite.
Science doesn’t understand
The Super-Conscious is not recognised by mainstream science, or the psychic phenomena associated with it, because the latter can’t be observed through scientific measures.
However, the Super-Conscious is a mystery worth investigating. It’s where we can look to find individual and collective salvation from the disease, destruction, disharmony, disconnection, and descension into darkness that humanity is experiencing.
Spiritual seekers do
The opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the Super-Conscious should be welcomed by those on the path of healing and spirituality. The opportunity to become a channel for inspirational and spiritual guidance from the Super-conscious is both exciting and liberating. The method I have developed for achieving this is called the Intuitive Vision Board.
First, we need to understand the difference between these three levels of mind and how they function. This will show us where and how to focus our attention to bring more clarity and insight into which direction to advance our lives.
Understanding how the levels of the mind function
Let’s explore the three levels of mind further and understand what each has to offer.
I regard the mind as the faculty we each possess that manifests itself through mental activity: thinking, perceiving, sensing, reasoning, and remembering. I regard the brain as the physical organ which is located in the head and processes mind activity.
Level 1 – the Conscious Mind
The Conscious mind includes everything in our current experience that we are already aware of – our thoughts and feelings, past and present.
Level 2 – the Unconscious Mind
The Unconscious mind harbours the thoughts and feelings we are not consciously aware of. This includes memories, buried and forgotten, because they were too traumatic for us to deal with when they occurred. We refer to this as our ‘emotional baggage’.
To complete the picture, the Unconscious deals with our primitive instincts, ingrained habits, and automatic reactions as well.
In spite of being out of sight, the Unconscious is most definitely not out of mind.
The bad news
The Unconscious mind exerts considerable influence over how we think, feel and behave. 90% of our current thoughts and feelings are determined by it. For the greater part, how we conduct our lives is driven by the past. If we don’t bring our awareness to this, if we don’t enquire further, we will continue to operate on automatic and this blocks our potential for change at source.
The good news
The good news is that we no longer need be hijacked by these Unconscious forces from the past. There are ways to break out of the closed loop of past trauma and hitch a ride on an ascending spiral of growth and personal development.
The choice is ours. It will require us to bring awareness to the task of re-integrating residual trauma. Otherwise, we will continue to be slaves to it. We will continue to re-enact the same emotionally abusive patterns we originally experienced. The evidence for this is the atrocious behaviour we are witnessing the world over where unaddressed trauma is the cause.
Begin with trauma
To understand trauma further a good place to start is by reading ‘The Myth of Normal’ by Gabor Maté.
However, we are not focusing on how to heal trauma here. We are exploring how to move beyond the polarisation of the Conscious/Unconscious minds – to move beyond the field of right and wrong – and connect to the unified field through the Super-Conscious mind.
Level 3 – the Super-Conscious Mind
The Super-Conscious mind sits outside the Conscious and Unconscious. It is a heightened state of awareness that transcends both. It brings thoughts, feelings and perceptions to us we have not entertained previously or are seeing in an entirely different way.
Pure genius resides in the Super-Conscious mind along with pure creativity (as in great art, music and writing). This is distinct from the manufactured creativity produced by the Conscious mind. Or, the creativity that emerges by creatively articulating trauma hitherto buried in the Unconscious.
The Super-Conscious encompasses a level of mindfulness that roams beyond our ‘3-D’ material awareness. It taps spiritual energy and tracks wisdom from a deeper reality. This is where our psychic abilities reside – and not just for the gifted few.
Psychic abilities
Intuition, precognition, telepathy, synchronicity, prescience, clair cognizance, remote vision are just some of the abilities we can expect to experience from the Super-Conscious.
Creative meditation
Creative meditation is another way of accessing the Super-conscious. I have been using the creative, intuitive method of the Intuitive Vision Board (IVB) since 2010 to have a conversation with Super-Conscious intelligence.
Super-vision
The IVB leads the creator beyond the reach of the human mind. Beyond what we are consciously and unconsciously already aware of. It opens doors to other realms of intelligence. It captures the ‘vision’ of what the creator discovers in the form of a large pictorial collage. This provides inspiration, direction and clarity for the future.
Understanding the levels of the mind for clarity and insight
I believe we can each acquire information, insight and wisdom from the Super-Conscious mind and bring it into our conscious awareness. This includes channelling the guidance from higher order beings, which are not detectable by the physical senses, and are only channelled when the receiver is in open state of mind to receive them.
Inexhaustible potential
The Super-Conscious is a huge reservoir of inexhaustible potential that can provide us with original perspectives along with the guidance for pursuing them. It can help us to decide upon and set holistic goals and that are aligned with our spiritual nature.
Transcends the human mind
The Super-Conscious enables us to transcend the looping limitations of the human mind (Conscious and Unconscious). It can provide us with unquestionable clarity, profound insights and liberation from the individual and collective trajectories we are currently on.
Our God Mind
I believe the Super-Conscious is our God Mind, our Soul Self. It resides within each of us and is the kingdom of love, enlightenment, and freedom.
